How can we help?

Help articles

  • After you sign up you will be directed to the Candidate Onboarding page to create your profile. We have tried to make it as easy as possible for you to quickly enter and upload everything an employer will want to know when they view your profile.

Try and enter in as much as you can on the first pass, but know that you can come back to a step later if you want by clicking 'Skip'.  You can edit your profile at any stage, which may mean updating it or even completing it!

Remember that your profile is a live profile.  The employer will instantly see your updates if you have applied for a role with them, joined their candidate pool (by clicking Hire me on their page) or are in the JobFairy Candidate pool.

Hover over the ? for some useful tips in each section.

One are we get a lot of questions is the profile video.  It is 15seconds maximum.  You can record it with our recorder, or upload a video of your own.  If you are using your phone, please record in Landscape mode and note that if your video goes over 15 seconds, we will just upload the first 15.    We have a good video with some tips on how best to record your video.
Finally the more complete your profile is, the more likely an employer will be to follow up with you. It's your first chance to make  a good impression, so take some time on it.

Once you have built your profile, you can use it to apply for any job posted on JobFairy.

Example of how the onboarding screen looks...

  • It's easy to join the JobFairy candidate pool and allow registered Employers view your profile. This gives them the opportunity to invite you to apply for open roles they have.

You can decide at any stage to join the Jobfairy candidate pool or at any stage to leave it.

You can do so in the 'About You' section within your 'My Profile' page.

Scroll down to the JobFairy candidate pool question and check the box if you wish to join.

  • You only have 15 seconds to record your profile. Your profile should never be specific to a particular job as that will lessen your chances with other roles.

Take some time to think what you wish to include, having a small script helps!

It really is an introduction to who you are. You might want to include some of these categories, but it is totally up to you.

    • Your name,
    • If you are looking for full time or part time work
    • Job sectors you have experience in or would like to work in
    • Your top skills
    • What you are passionate about
Employers can already see your work experience and education on your profile, you are not trying to create a video CV.  The video is a chance to convey your softer skills.

The video is a chance to highlight who you are and add some personality and colour to your profile. Be yourself. Look into the camera, finish with a smile.

Make sure to watch our tips video on 'how to make a video' before making your own. It's important to get the technical stuff correct, like the background, the lighting, the sound, etc.

  • Your profile is always live. What does this mean? It means that as soon as you make an update to it any employer who has access to it will see that update.

Got some new experience? Changed what location you are living in?, Picked up some new skills?, Have different availability you can work?

As soon as you update your profile with this new information, the employer will see it.  It might have been that they ruled you out for a role as you were in the wrong location, weren't available for the times they were looking for staff and so on.

Keeping your profile up to date is the best way of giving yourself the best opportunity to find the role you are looking for.

  • No, you do not need a complete profile before applying. However, look at things from the Employer perspective, the less they know about how great you are, your experience, your education, the less likely they are to move your application forward.

We highly recommend you complete your profile.

The good news is that your profile is live, this means that unlike say a paper CV which you can't update as soon as you update your profile the Employer will have the latest copy of it.

We know it takes some time to complete a profile, but once done you can use it to apply for any role within JobFairy.

    Did this answer your question?

  • Changed your mind and wish to un-apply, cancel or delete your application?

That is no problem. Follow these simple steps.

    1. Log in to you account and go to 'My Applications'
    2. Go to the Submitted tab.
This contains all the jobs that you have applied for, no matter where you are in the process.

    3. Click on the application you'd like to delete.

    4. Go to the top right hand corner and click on the three vertical dots.
    5.

    Select Delete application.
    6.

Your application is immediately deleted and is removed from the Employer's dashboard and your own 'My applications page'.

  • The employer decides if the questions are open are hidden.  In the main employers choose to hide the questions so just like in a real interview you get a small amount of time to prepare.  This is set to 30 seconds but if you are ready to answer before then just click 'Start now'.  Don't worry you get a chance to do a retake if you are not happy.

Typically you have 45s to 1 minute to answer the question. You don't need to use all this time, but you can't go past the time suggested. The employer decides how much time you have to answer.

If the questions are hidden you will see the interview questions one by one as you begin your interview.

The questions are always at the top of the screen.

Once you finish answering one question, the next one will appear on the top of the screen before you begin recording.

You will need to answer one question at a time. There is no option to skip a question and come back to it later.

You will be able to review each answer immediately after recording it, but you will not be able to go back at the end of your interview and review all of your answers.

Once you hit "Next", you'll be moving onto the next question, so double check that you're happy with your answer before you submit.

  • Don't worry we will help you solve this. There are a lot of device and browser combinations out there so sometimes you might need some help.

Try fixing things in the following order.

    1. The quickest solution is to always try another device if its available and convenient to you  !

    2. Reach out to the ChatBot within your Video interview. The agent there can help diagnose your problem and get you sorted.

    3. Read the various help articles we have on how to set up your camera and microphone

    4. EMail us - support@jobfairy.co. We will work it out for you!

  • You can request your personal data at any stage from us.

  • If you wish to delete your account and erase all you data you can.

Just log in and go to your 'My Profile' page. Click the three small dots in the top right hand side and select Erase My personal data & Delete this account.

  • Found a job you'd like to apply for or been invited directly by an employer to apply?

You will need to have a profile to apply. It's up to you how complete the profile is, but as you might guess the more complete the better.  A complete profile ensures that employers see all your skills and experience.

Once you have your profile, open up the job specification and click 'I'm interested'.
This will then open up the application process. Once you have a profile, all you need to do is write a cover note and answer any screening questions the employer may have set.

Click Save the application.  YOU HAVE NOT SUBMITTED YOUR APPLICATION YET.

This stage is your final chance to edit your application before submission.

    Click Submit Application
and you have applied for the job.

  • Found a company you'd like to work for but don't see a role advertised for you at the moment?  Show employers you are interested in working with them.

    Click the 'Hire me' button.
By clicking this button you join a company's candidate pool.  What this means is that the company now knows you are interested in working for them in the future.  They can directly invite you to apply for roles and you will receive an alert as soon as they post a new role.

If you are invited to a job, you will receive an email and your invite will appear in your dashboard.
On the employers dashboard you will now appear in their candidate pool and they can invite you to apply directly from here.
